Love, the Pretty Puppy, the Tooth-popping Tiger, and the Delightful Dragon
We survived quite a lively night of Halloween fun--some meltdowns spurred on by not enough sleep and too much sugar, I suppose. I was grateful to have a place to take the kids where I knew nothing scary would be displayed or celebrated---we have a VERY sensitive little lady in our family. A few weeks ago, during the week leading up to the weirdest event I have ever heard of, "The Zombie Pub Crawl", there was a gigantic inflatable 8-story tall zombie towering over Washington Ave. in Minneapolis. On the way to Music Garden class on Thursday morning, the kids and I were on our merry way to church downtown, when I saw the zombie (whilst not knowing it was a zombie) from a distance. I pointed it out to the kids thinking at first that it would be something fun, but as we got closer, I realized my error. Freya was very concerned and seemingly frightened by the appearance of the zombie, and for hours afterwards asked about, "That guy." She still asks about him folks, and wakes up asking about him and where he is...she wouldn't even go in the den the other day because of "that guy", and when we open the shades of a window she says, "No!" and when we ask why she tells us, "That guy." So thank you, city of Minneapolis for ushering in a delightful new era into the life of my not-yet-2-year-old: FEAR. We reassure her multiple times a day, "That guy went bye-bye sweetie." Even Jonas does. So, in sum, "Be careful little eyes what you see." Unfortunately, I didn't know in advance to take an alternative route to church. Never know when a gigantic zombie might appear outside your window. Happy Halloween Everyone, may yours be candy-filled and family-friendly:)

Poor little Freya! It is so disappointing when little kids have to try to process such big things...and you had no way around it. :( Hopefully she'll forget about "that guy" soon.
On another note, everyone looked so cute! Did you get a big haul of candy? What are you guys doing with it? Ours is in the freezer for now, but it's calling my name for sure!
