Neighbors and Noodles (and lots of pictures:)

While living in Orange City, the kids got to know the Weirsma family (our neighbors to the north) very well, and often would toddle (as in August's case) or scamper (as in Freya's case) or stroll (as in J-man's case) over to say hello and ask a myriad of questions, or as Bob put it, "We are going to miss the cross-examination we get from Freya every time we come home!"  Freya was always asking what they were eating for dinner and where they were going and where they had come from and why:)--and they always graciously and patiently answered every question.  We loved having such friendly neighbors and miss them a great deal.  Just today, while out in the yard, August pointed next door and said, "Bob" and I had to explain that Bob wasn't there but was in Iowa by Grandma and Grandpa; he didn't seem to mind and continued to look around and say it anyway:)  He always loved watching his car pull in around suppertime in OC and now whenever he sees a small white car, he says, "Bob."  It's a great first name for 1-year-old to learn:)
I am grateful for the season we spent in OC---we grew as a family in ways I never dreamed we would and developed wonderful relationships with some incredible people.  It is hard to leave and hard to say goodbye.  Sigh.  Another chapter in life.  And God is faithful through it all.
