Fun to Know...

(Here is a list about me...same one as on Facebook, but I enjoy reading other people's, so thought you might enjoy mine:)
1. I think Jonas giggling is the cutest sound in the entire world (and so does Jason)
2. I sometimes think I was born in the wrong century...but then I don't know if I could have handled living in a one room cabin all winter long with no hot showers (yes, Jason, even more so than the internet:)
3. I don't like raisins, so, when you are making me some trail mix, just double my portion of M and M's!!
4. I secretly love snowstorms-when they thwart my plans and the plans of other people (so fun to get snowed in!) We need a reminder that we don't control everything...and it's a good thing we don't!
5. I love sea turtles(especially leatherback)...yes, I do, and I am so sad thinking that many of them die in the giant commercial fishing nets left carelessly at the bottom of the sea...many of them are caught "accidentally" and then dragged in with the rest of the catch...we need to come up with a better, more sea-turtle friendly way of longline fishing!
6. I think that history teachers have no excuse for making their classes boring...(especially Bible history teachers, and if you encounter one, try to find a different professor...they have the best most exciting material from which to draw...centuries of stories!!)
7. I love lakes...and anything that goes with them...swimming, skiiing, watching sunsets over them, everything except zebra mussels all over my beach!! ( although I like the crunching sound they make when you walk on them)
8. I love hymns and have found more than once, that, like Scripture, when hidden in your heart, can have a transforming effect on how you think, feel and react to difficult situations (and joyful ones too!)
9. I love my family and think sticking together and working through our differences is imperative...I can't do life without you guys!
10.When I was little I always had to say goodbye to Lake Michigan every time we left Door County after everyone else was already in the car, and I would secretly get lots of sand all over my feet so I could "take some of the beach home" with me... and I always left something at the house (hidden) so I knew I had to come back:)
11. I want to adopt internationally someday (Columbia maybe?)
12. I love to travel and learn new things and challenge my thinking about the things I already think I do know
13. I love Swedish pancakes with lingonberries
14. I don't understand why people like Nascar
15. Sunshine, blanket, green grass, and a good book...sounds like the perfect afternoon to me!
16. When I was 5, I fell into a neighbors fish pond and got my new coat all wet and muddy, and when I got spanked for it, I was so upset that my dad just wasn't simply ecstatic that I had survived my near-death experience.
17. I love really fast tubing hills, and wish I could have one in my backyard!!
18. I wish people spent more time outside instead of in front of the TV
19. I am scared of the dark especially when I have to walk to the pit toilet out in the woods when we are backpacking...so sometimes I don't...
20. I think everyone should witness extreme poverty first-hand (and then quit griping about not having enough stuff- and sometimes I secretly wish my house would burn down so I didn't have to spend time organizing my stuff, cleaning my stuff, talking about my stuff, losing my stuff, finding my stuff, breaking my stuff, fixing my stuff, buying new stuff, and arguing over my stuff!!! So much of our lives revolves around things that don't matter at all... We are made for so much more!
21. I want to go to Italy
22. I love gardening and wish I could do more of it
23. Daffodils and gerbera daisies are my favorite flowers (daffodils inspire me with their resilience to the cold and their determination to poke up their heads in early April in the Midwest!) (a sad day indeed when the frost comes back and snaps short their already too-short lives!)
24. Chocolate should grow on trees (trees in my backyard:) (yes, my backyard would be the coolest...a tubing hill and a chocolate tree:)
25. I don't like numerical constraints, and I wish I had long, wavy red hair.
26. Roller coasters are fantastic (and I would love one in my backyard:)
