Jonas's first canoe ride! Today Jason worked an REI Paddlefest with WI and Jonas and I stopped by to say "hi" and enjoy the beautiful day at Fort Snelling State Park...and we ended up getting to go for a ride in a Voyager Canoe----these are huge 24 ft boats that can comfortable fit 12 adults---Jonas had a blast with his little paddle, and loved looking over the side of the boat at the water rushing past. Here are a few pictures from our wonderful day spent on and by the water...needless to say, he loved loved loved the lake...he tromped right in without a fuss and actually, it was the getting out that caused raucous--such a different experience than with pools--maybe it's the fact that he can just waddle in as far as he's comfortable and plop down...or maybe it's just because he's an outdoors man... what can I say? Pools are for sissies anyway:)
