Jonas got this adorable smock from his Aunt Becca and Uncle Erik for Easter...and he loves it:) We can't wait to get all crafty and such---and Grandma gave Jonas paints and little stampers for Easter---so this is perfect! Thanks you guys for the sweet gift. We missed having you here with us:) I hope everyone had a marvelous Easter.
And, just because I love to share little stories...I have two for you all today. Jonas is just saying the darndest things...some are so sweet and some are quite telling about the parents that Jason and I are becoming! So, yesterday, Jonas was wearing his Elmo t-shirt, and when we were getting ready to go out the door, I wanted to put a sweatshirt on him as it was a little chilly outside...as I was zipping it up, in his sweet little voice, Jonas said, "Bye bye Elmo" and then he waved while looking down at his tummy...which was followed by "Night night". Apparently, by zipping the sweatshirt, we were also tucking Elmo in for a nap:) Then, we stopped at the library to pick up a book I had on hold, and we just so happened to be there for story time. Now, I want to like story time at my local library, but the last few times we have gone, they have read the weirdest books...and some of them have just been confusing and a little gross for my taste (there are a million gazmillion good children's books out there---so why the poor selection?) Anyway, while we were there, story time rolled around, and I thought we might as well give it one more chance...so, we went in. The letter of the day was "J" and with that the theme "jokers and tricksters" . "Okay" I thought to myself, we'll give it a shot even though the theme seemed a little inappropriate for toddlers---there are bigger kids in there as well, so I guess they want to cater to them too. Anyway, the second book that the teacher read, which actually turned out funny at the end, was really scary at first...it was a rendition on the 3 little pigs story...all about the wolf coming and sneaking over to the little pigs house...and his beady red eyes and his low growl..some of the kids looked scared in the room, and Jonas sat still in my lap..."Oh no" I thought...I've done it again...Story time gone sour...well, the ending of the story saves the book....actually, the pigs were throwing the wolf a surprise birthday party, complete with pizza and cake....so at least it ends happily. I was so glad that all the kids were laughing and smiling...the room had taken on such a air of serious fear before that. Fast-forward to this morning...I always ask Jonas, while I am changing his morning diaper, how he slept, and if he had any dreams during the night...and wouldn't you know it?...after I asked if he had had any, he said, "Yes Mommy." "Oh really, sweetie, what did you dream about?" "Wolves, Mommy." Ugh. Call me a terrible mother.

yay! Im glad he likes it! I know how he likes to stay clean... :)
the things he is saying right now are so sweet. Erik laughed really hard when he read this... you are not a bad mother for letting him hear about wolves...it just builds to an even more active imagination! :)
love!
Thanks for the affirmation...I know it is good for him to expand that imagination of his...it is sometimes just a fine line to walk as he is still so little...but, he said that he dreamed about wolves again this morning, so it must be okay as he sleeps really well! Miss you guys!
