Hey All---just stopping in for a short tale from our life today. After we arrived back home from Choo Choo Bobs---this really cool train store in St Paul where they have multiple train tables for kids to play with, Jonas got out of the car and meandered to the garage door leading into the building---there are two entrances to our condo---one from our garage and one from the outside. We primarily use the outside door because when I am carrying the car seat, it is a bit squishy to go through the garage and hallway; however, this afternoon, Jonas wanted to go into the house this way for some reason, and, carrying his train magazine, stood by the door waiting for me to follow. However, I proceeded out of the garage, heading towards the other door. When I told him to follow me, he said no... thus beginning a very enlightening/abstract/slightly humorous conversation....
"But I want to go this way, Momma!"
"Jonas, come here" I said.
"No momma. I want to go in here." (pointing to the door)
"Come here now."
He finally gives in, grumbling as he comes out of the garage....then he says with a somewhat angry voice, "Momma, this way (referring to the way I was encouraging him to go) is on my Nautilus! (this is what I thought I heard).
"Your what, Jonas?"
"My Matalis, Mom." (still not sure what he is saying)...
(hoping to clarify)"What is your Matalis, Jonas?"
"No, Mom! My MAD LIST!!"
"Your mad list?"
"Yes."
Interesting.
"And where is your mad list, Jonas?"
"I don't have it Momma, it's in my heart."
