Whirlwind
We are back from our whirlwind of a trip out west---Washington and Oregon---ocean, mountains, sand dunes, BEAUTIFUL.
We had a blast. I LOVE the West Coast. We spent some time in Everett, WA with my family---boating on Lake Washington,
shopping at Pike's Place and just enjoying being together. Then we headed over to Leavenworth, WA which is an absolutely beautiful town in the mountains...
and from there, through the amazing Columbia River Gorge
to Portland where we spent some time with my dear friend Rach. Freya loved the rose garden:)
Then we headed down the incredible Oregon Coast. We stayed in a yurt near the dunes....so totally the way to go.
Yurts are awesome. They are a larger, semi-permanent tent structure and a fantastic addition to any campground. I am sold, and so is Freya:)
The two nights spent in our yurt are probably my two favorite nights we have had as a family. Here are a few pictures, and I will update with more pictures from that adventure soon! Also, the day after we got back, Jason left for the Boundary Waters with some buddies from church for 3 days and they had a wonderful time too---and even topped it off with a curious bear bumbling through their campsite:) He is back and we are cleaning up the house. I tell ya----nothin' like a 11 day trip followed by a camping trip to MESS UP the house. Yikes. We have alot of work to do:) Jonas is down hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa in Iowa this week, and Freya certainly misses her big brother and the entertainment that encircles her life when he is around! Whew!
