Other people....

are simply in for a treat when they meet this little lady.  Today we went to Freya's 15 month well-check.  August was screaming his head off for about 15 minutes and Freya was ripping up a crayon box all over the lobby while Jonas was happily coloring his Thomas picture.  The receptionist took pity on me, I guess, and went to see if the room was ready...the nurse promptly came to get us and show us to the room where I could nurse August and Freya would be contained:)  We all got settled, and I started to nurse screaming baby # 3, however, the nurse neglected to pull the door all the way shut. I said something about how Freya would probably escape at least twice, but she just ignored me and just started asking questions...does Freya sleep in a crib, how many ounces of milk/day does she drink...etc. Freya then, seeing her chance, while both Mommy and nurse were distracted, used her pretty little hands (we painted her nails for the first time yesterday) and pulled open the very heavy door with a grunt and made a run for it.  I started to put August down, and the nurse said she could chase her...she then went out in the hall and asked out loud, as if to the whole clinic, "Now which way do you think she went?" Ha! So the nurse chose the most likely escape route that Freya would have taken and started running down the hall...I couldn't help but start laughing and I think a few tears came too.  I mean, really, this entire day has been simply ridiculous...beginning with all the snow and ice and then loading up everyone and taking all 3 kids to Jonas' preschool for conferences this morning where Freya made herself famous by quickly climbing on the chairs and beginning to dance on the table.  The teachers and I then had to put away all 8 of the little red chairs that surrounded the table so that we could sit in peace and talk about the child that was supposed to be our focus...Jonas. Then, after climbing on the table, Freya made several escape attempts into the hall, but finally found something to do and started putting sand in her hair from the sandbox, but since that wasn't dangerous and she was still visible, we just let her go for it:) The teachers said that Jonas was a "delight" to have in class and that his "enthusiasm for learning was contagious":) Yes, I must say that I am a proud mother...a humble one (i.e. nurse chasing my child) but a proud one too!  I love these 3 kiddos, and even though I can barely keep up with them, it sure is an adventure to try!
