Sleep is a precious commodity at our house these days---let's just say... August is not the sleeper that his sister and brother were at his age. (They were great). Nope, we're not even close. But I love him still, and realize that it's just for a season. But golly gee willikers, when you're in that season, it seems LONG. I want to be a good mom, but sometimes it's hard to be nice to everyone--(as well as perform most daily tasks). It is in times like these, that I do--keenly--feel my need of Him.
Anyway, this hymn was sweet to sing on Sunday, so I share it with you dear readers: sweet encouragement for the sleep-deprived soul.
"Come, ye sinners, poor and needy,
Weak and wounded, sick and sore;
Jesus ready stands to save you,
Full of pity, love and power.
Weak and wounded, sick and sore;
Jesus ready stands to save you,
Full of pity, love and power.
I will arise and go to Jesus,
He will embrace me in His arms;
In the arms of my dear Savior,
O there are ten thousand charms.
He will embrace me in His arms;
In the arms of my dear Savior,
O there are ten thousand charms.
Come, ye thirsty, come, and welcome,
God’s free bounty glorify;
True belief and true repentance,
Every grace that brings you nigh.
God’s free bounty glorify;
True belief and true repentance,
Every grace that brings you nigh.
Come, ye weary, heavy laden,
Lost and ruined by the fall;
If you tarry till you’re better,
You will never come at all.
Lost and ruined by the fall;
If you tarry till you’re better,
You will never come at all.
Let not conscience make you linger,
Not of fitness fondly dream;
All the fitness He requireth
Is to feel your need of Him."
All the fitness He requireth
Is to feel your need of Him."
