We did a little egg hunt at home on Palm Sunday, and it was a blast...August knew exactly what to do, and as long as he had an egg in each hand, he was happy:) (You can't hold more than two anyway). As the kids grow older, I am reminded how important traditions become. They associate these traditions with important dates and family time, and it has been good for me to attempt to be more intentional with what we do to commemorate special moments in our lives (including holidays). I love Jonas' age (4 1/2 is fantastic)---and he and Freya are starting to play so well together these days---for nearly an hour (both in the morning and afternoon), I can count on happy, entertained, chattering little ones...spouting off ideas for games to play and imaginary roles to create. Other moms kept telling me that this day would come---when the kids would be interested in the same things and actually play together for more than 5 minutes without fighting. It is sweet. I am grateful. It doesn't happen all the time, and August still manages to create havoc since he has no idea that a perfectly positioned lego tower or train set are NOT for smashing and walking over...someday though, he will join in the creative think-tank. I don't want to wish away time, but I really love that they are growing up and working together:)
