I ran a 5K yesterday!!! Praise the Lord...the body and soul are really feeling like the Claire Ellen I remember! It was fantastic to run hard and know that my body has bounced back from baby-related adventures, to say the least...it is amazing how God heals and restores our strength! Jonas and I ran the Hoof and Woof 5K...in honor or World Rabies Day (a disease that still kills thousands and thousands of people worldwide) and Josh and Friends an organization that provides support, encouragement, and gifts for hospitalized kids...both wonderful causes, and a wonderful reason for mom and son to spend a Saturday morning running in beautiful Central Park in Roseville. It rained, but Jonas was such a trooper all bundled up...he actually fell asleep after mile 1!! People thought he was pretty cute, and he even won a prize for being the youngest participant! They called up 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, of which I was not in the running, and then called my name (I was, however, in the top 20:), so Jonas Erik at 4 months of age is already a prize winning athlete:) Ahhhh....it can only get better from here--perhaps we have an Olympic-bound runner in our midst:)
