Hey everyone-Jonas rolled over!! We were down visiting Mormor and Morfar (Swedish for Mom's mom and mom's dad)- this is what Jonas will call them:) for the weekend, and of course I had to stay for the Bear game Sunday night...and to add to the wonder and joy of their win (if any of you saw this game you will know what I mean)...Jonas did his first roll-over thanks to some quality coaching over the last few weeks from daddy and a little more from Mormor!! We are so proud of him. It is amazing that even the little things bring such joy, and he was surprised as well...now we have entered into an entirely new stage of parenting...can't trust him to stay in one spot!! He has also nearly totally outgrown his cradle...and early this morning I found him squished up into a little ball at the top squawking and moving...he didn't look very comfortable!
We were also able to visit the great-grandparents-all 4 of them!!!-and it is such a joy to see them interact with Jonas and see the love and care they have for him...Jonas has no idea how loved he is and by so many!! What a blessing this is to our lives as parents, and someday soon hopefully he will learn to appreciate how amazing it is to have these generations of people that know and love him too! It was especially sweet to take Jonas to see my Farfar who is currently at a nursing home for Alzheimer's...but he remembered Jonas' name throughout the entire visit, and they just stared at each other for the longest time with smiles on their faces. He kept referring to Jonas as a beautiful baby...:) O how I wish Jonas could have known him like I did. He was so strong and wise and yet so gentle and caring...the best grandfather a kid could have ever hoped for. I cherish those memories with him...countless boat rides on the lake, walks down the beach and wheel-barrel rides all over the yard. He was always so patient with us kids and always had a story to tell and never a shortage of Swedish jokes...:) Thank you God for the legacy of a man who loves you so!
