BUICK....yup, we're down to one car again, people---sigh. Maybe we are only supposed to have one car after all...Oh well, we are making it work. This car has been our car since the beginning, since we were dating, so it was sad to see it go finally. The end of an era, so to speak....we drove thousands and thousands of miles together in that blue beauty---it took us on countless dates, camping trips, ski trips (as pictured at right)---(NWC friends, you all rode in it at some point and many of you on long road trips---where we all squished contentedly in the front and back seats!:) It gave us a safe place to talk and get to know each other even after visiting hours were over at the dorms, got us all the way to the Tetons for our 1-year anniversary, came back to us even after it was stolen and stripped of many of its parts, and both kids rode home in it from the hospital (Jonas on a glorious spring day and Freya in a huge snowstorm). It was sad to say goodbye.
However, the kids and I have been getting creative with doing things around our neighborhood, and thanks to lots of sunshine and warmth, we've been hitting up the parks, having picnics, and having a grand old time:) Today, because I am a doofus and forgot to take the stroller out of the van before Jason left for work, we walked all the way to Walgreen's for a snack, then onto the park and then to Subway where we picked up a sandwich and had a picnic by the lake (and my not-even-3-year-old walked all this way too!) Needless to say, he is still taking a nap as a result! And here is evidence of our grand outdoor expeditions all over the neighborhood: Pink cheeks and multiple bath-times:)
