This week has seemed like an eternity. I am tired. Tired of cleaning up poop. Tired of giving multiple baths a day. Tired of screaming babies and sticky kitchen floors. Tired of sick kids. Tired of not sleeping at night. Tired of feeling frazzled all the time. Tired of looking at my big frump of a self in the mirror and knowing that I have no clothes that fit me and absolutely no desire to go shopping because I am so tired. I am tired of cooking dinner with a fussy, clingy baby clawing my leg and screaming because she wants to be held every single moment of every single day. I am tired of feeling like a crappy mom because my temper is short, my responses to my children not often gentle, and my thoughts are always turning to "when can I get a break?" Yuck. But then, God, in His grace, turns my eyes to a verse that spoke to my weary soul this afternoon during some precious moments of quiet.
"He will tend his flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs in His arms; He will carry them in His bosom and gently lead those that are with young." Isaiah 40:11
Thank you, Lord. While I struggle to gently lead my little ones, you gently lead me. I hope and pray that this encourages you, Moms of little ones; we have a gracious Shepherd that loves us.
