A sweet visit

I was able to visit my dear friend Stephanie and her new baby girl, Lucy this week...what a joy:) Jonas and I drove down to Rockford on Tuesday night and then I was able to go down to see them during the day on Wednesday while my dear mother watched Jonas. It was wonderful to spend time with my friend and laugh and laugh about our birth stories and compare our thoughts and expectations with what actually happened during that raw and unforgettable event. Somehow, you are never prepared for EVERYTHING that happens that day...the books and the doctors and all the advice from friends and family still manages to leave something out---so I suppose, that is what keeps life so interesting...and at times dramatic...because each new baby is a new adventure complete with challenges unique to their arrival! Our conversation was filled with..."I had no idea" and "No one ever told me..." It was good for the soul and so good to see her with Lucy...God is so good to give us little ones that humble us, challenge us, and inspire us too---you are certainly never the same afterwards!! Jonas and I also got to spend some much needed quality time with Mormor and Morfar--baking and cooking some delicious dishes, playing outside, going on walks and just laughing together and catching up face-to-face on life (the phone just doesn't cut it for me). And Jonas enjoyed some summertime fun...he is now obsessed with watering flowers...we watered every flower we could find in my parent's yard, and a few more than once. Enjoy the pictures!

So glad you got to see her and I'm glad little Lucy is doing better. I just have to say I'm SO JEALOUS you live so close to your parents!!! What I would give to be able to drive home for the weekend. Ahhh... one day, maybe.

P.S. - the word verification for this one is "Pantstr" - you! The Pantster!
