Happy...

Okay---so, we have been partying it up these past few weeks, so I am a little overwhelmed to say the least about posting a million and one pictures and filling everyone in the details...but to sum up...they were sweet times. It is hard to believe that I have a 2-year old. But then at other times, not so hard. The time has flown and crawled along all at the same time---parents, you know what I mean...certain moment/phases in your child's life seem to last f.o.r.e.v.e.r, and then, others, BAM! seem over with in no time---like for example....one day Jonas was not walking, and the next day he was...not much in between time or time to process the changes...and now words and sentences are simply spilling out of his mouth around the clock---he is recounting events of the day to me and telling me what we are supposed to do next---I have a little day planner on my hands:) So...back to the parties....we had one Elmo one and one Polar Bear-themed one, each completed by an adorable cake to match:) Notice in the 4th picture down how Jonas dove right in and began licking the cupcakes...:) Side note: after his 2-year well-checkup this morning, he picked out an Elmo sticker and a polar bear sticker---so this is not a passing fad:) We had his Elmo party in Iowa the same weekend as Tulip festival, and Denise made an adorable cake... and had even saved the paper tablecloth and cups and napkins from Jason's 2nd birthday!!! (and even notice that these are from the pre-Elmo age of Sesame Street---but I don't think Jonas noticed since he had his cake:) Wow! Now that is impressive----something I could attempt, but then, in 24 years..would I be able to find the stuff??---certainly not likely! Way to go Grandma!! Then, this last weekend, we had his polar bear party in Rockford complete with lots of family and even two ice bergs (compliments of my mother:) and fake snow (compliments of Auntie Becca:) It was fantastic....having great-grandparents and aunts and uncles and everyone together was so special---I am so thankful for family, and it is at times like this when you really see what a complete and utter blessing they really are...Jonas doesn't know yet how blessed he is to be this loved:) Someday hopefully this truth will settle on his heart as it has on mine. So here are some pictures from the parties---enjoy. And I just have to give credit where credit is due....Jason and I made the polar bear cake together (and even tried to make him look fury with white chocolate shavings:) and my mom made the cupcakes---so it was a fun family effort:---I'll keep posting more pictures from the events as the days go by:) Happy Memorial Day!
