Hello All! We've had a good week around here...got our tree on Wednesday...which was so fun--we went to a wonderful tree farm out in Lake Elmo--Kruegger's...and picked out a great tree at a great price (of course if we were made out of money, it would ave been fun to get the 12ft Frasier fir--but it was $150, so we thought maybe not this year at least...but having those high ceilings makes me wish we could...sometimes you want to do things just because you can:)

It was a chilly evening, but the cider was hot and the owners were the sweetest people....the lights outside reminded me of Charley Brown...there were light bulbs strung over the tress and it just seemed so nostalgically (and yes, this is a word:) sweet:) We even took a brisk hike through the woods and got to pick out a free snowflake ornament:) We came right home and set it up and just enjoyed it for the evening with no lights and no ornaments...there is something so raw and beautiful about a tree just like it is...maybe one year I'll just leave it alone or add a string of wooden beads or something...keep it simple:) I keep telling myself this, and then every year I feel bad for the ornaments as if they will begrudge me another year of sitting in their boxes untouched...I am such a softy:) So we got them all out again:) In other news...I have been working on Christmas cards, decorating, shopping, editing Jason's papers, visiting friends, working in the nursery and lots and lots of little things:) I really love this time of year though...and shopping has a whole new feeling to it---I love buying things for the people I love; I just have such a hard time making up my mind!! But it's fun nonetheless!! Merry Christmas everyone!
