Yes, my friends, I am not proud to admit it, but our son is definitely addicted to his nuks...ever since the early days, this child is so content to simply stick in the nuk and embrace life. I had always heard the worst about nuks...that the habit is impossible to break, that they cause orthodontic issues eventually, and that they prevent kids from talking....well, I have to agree with the first one, don't quite know about the second, and totally and completely disagree with the third one. Jonas talks more than any other kids his age...and even more so than older ones. He has a very extensive vocabulary and is adding to it everyday, which is such a joy to behold! Anyway, this is now Jonas's nukkie purse....
he picked it up tonight and placed all 4 nukkies left in our collection and gladly remarked, "Ma purse!" Jason and I just had to laugh, and though we usually only let him partake of the goodness of the nuk at naptime and bedtime and long car-trip time, he sometimes just melts your heart and you have to give in. Our pediatrician said to not even worry about it until he is 2, as kids need something to help them self-soothe---a blanket, toy, sometimes even a sippy cup, and in our son's case, the nuk...besides, he is still teething, and I'd rather have him use this than have to keep giving him Orajel or something medicinal. Here are some cute pictures from the purse episode...O children, they bring so much joy, albeit, strangely at times, but joy nonetheless:)
