So we love our lake...and it is in the winter that it really feels like it belongs to just us...not a typical neighborhood route, I guess. Jonas enjoys riding on the sled for the most part but periodically falls off, and then the whole snow in the face thing makes for a potentially not as enjoyable experience. So, we decided to use the backpack this time---we put him in his warmest pjs (as in full snowsuit attire he would not fit) and go for a trek out on the lake
---a little exploration as a family, and it was really fun and peaceful....it is weird, even though it isn't really a big lake, I swear we couldn't hear traffic while we were walking. (I also wrote a message for Jason in the snow, so if any of you are flying over Silver View Lake anytime before spring, you might just see it from the air!!
Anyway, an encouragement to each of you...make the most of the time---even amidst the cold and snow (especially snow:)---to get outside and enjoy time together (and as an added blessing, it really tires kids out:) We were talking at my ECFE class just this week about how we really love going outside in winter because there is nothing more exhausting for kids than tromping through snow...and, it is also a good workout for Mommy and Daddy (especially for the one wearing the backpack!:)
