We're Home!

Oh my goodness...we made it back safe and sound! My brother, Erik graduated from the University of Illinois!! We had a great party with the pastor and his family that are down there-the pastor that will be marrying Erik and Becca in August. It was so kind of them to open up their home and feed us and everything...Cathy, the pastor's wife, even watched Jonas for us during the graduation which was wonderful, needless to say, adding a squirming 1-year old to that 2-hour ceremony would have made it all the more interesting!-the most fun part, I must say, was watching the hooding of the Masters and Doctoral degree recipients...this was a circus!!...the first poor girl didn't squat down far enough, so the professor caught her right across the mouth, then missed entirely, and then her hat fell-off-2 or 3 times...this happened repeatedly, to a few other people too...you'd think they could have used a chair or something...oh well, it added some smiles to my day, and I suppose some slight humiliation to theirs, but they still graduated, clumsily or not-so-clumsily!! Hopefully Bethel will be more graceful in their approach for Jason and me when it's our turn!!
It was so fun to be down in Urbana with everyone...my little brother is off to change the world with his Political Science degree...and he will too:) He is made of tough stuff, and we are so proud of him!
16 hours of driving this weekend has us all pretty tired right now though, so we are thankful for a peaceful night. Lots of "Would-you-rather" and snacks and even some Monty Python, made the trip more enjoyable...:) Poor Jonas is all confused...no regular naps and crazy bedtimes tends to confuse the best of us, and especially a little guys who is used to getting 12-13 hours of sleep/night! He will bounce back, though...such a trooper!

My pumpkin seeds are growing like CRAZY, I need a babysitter for these guys...and I need to transplant them ASAP before they grow out of their boxes! :)
