Bristol and Beautiful California

Last week I was able to visit my dear friend Bristol....she is going to school out in Berkeley, and we had so much fun exploring the area together....we went hiking and hiking and hiking (with a little more hiking mixed in:) We had a tea party at Ghirardelli Square (with her Jason---for those of you who don't know...she is dating a wonderful man named Jason too, so we have to make it clear in our conversations who we are talking about, so we always preface with, "Your Jason or My Jason:) and enjoyed a long walk throughout San Francisco...and got to see some pretty good break dancers and of course, my favorite...the sea lions on pier 39. We even stayed in a hostel in the Marin Headlands just outside of Sausalito, and boy was it beautiful....I honestly think that I have never seen a place that has it all like California...ocean, mountains, incredible plants and flowers, fun cities, culture, Yogurtland (what a great idea this is!), and every outdoor activity that you can imagine, but, as I soon discovered from a week out there....it is lacking one thing: the Midwest:)---if you know what I mean: those of us that were born and bred here...as Bristol so eloquently put it, "California exhausts me sometimes. Everyone is always so busy trying to be crazy." :) And yes, I would have to agree, but it does make for a fun and entertaining vacation...always something/someone to watch amidst the beautiful backdrop of the green hills and blue ocean...I had a lot of good alone time too while Bristol studied or had class, and it was very refreshing and a perfect time to... practice with my new camera!! Yay! I got it just in time for the trip, and it is wonderful! And so, here you have a few of my favs from the trip...from the hundreds:) Bristol, thanks again, and Your Jason too!....I had a wonderful time and you guys are the best!

Yes, CA is wonderful. And I miss it incredibly. And I had no idea you were going out there- sans husband and child??? Sounds fab. Not implying that you don't love your husband and kid, but I'd love to do a vacay like that. You are one lucky girl!

It's almost spring out here, so those warm pictures you posted are encouraging me!!
