Weekend with the boys...

This last weekend was great...let's call it our "what there is to do for fun in the Twin Cities" weekend---as I feel like we did so much! Friday night we began the fun at the indoor water park and playground at the Shoreview Community Center, then, Saturday, we went to the Minnesota Children's Museum... which was a blast---so thankful to be living near a big city for options like this! There is so much to see and do--including a giant turtle to climb in, a dinosaur exhibit and a "town" including a little market, a post office, doctor's office, city bus, a packaging factory, and a Chinese restaurant---the kids just get to explore--and Jonas loved shopping at the market......he even started filling other people's carts with food (wouldn't that be fun to try in real life??--boy would they be in for a surprise at the check-out!). And in between each stop, he would race as fast as he could from the milk to the canned goods to the fruits and veggies---like bumper carts, if you will. Jason and I couldn't stop laughing to at our adorable little postman our little worker-man who now loves conveyor beltsand the chef at the restaurant---I think he could have stirred those veggies in the wok all day long! We even got to crawl through a life-size ant hill---complete wit giant ants, which at first, Jonas was a little hesitant about, but as you can see, was soon able to conquer his fear. And, at the end, Jason even painted our faces:)And, of course, the Skyway was fun too with the "cahs (cars) under me!" Translation: Jonas was excited to watch the cars drive beneath him. :) Then Saturday night, I worked, and after church, the Bethel folks came over for dessert and games. Always a good time:) Then on Sunday, Jason was able to hang out and reconnect with some old college friends and we went on a walk. I am thankful for weekends like this---quality family time for sure and things we have wanted to do but seem to not always be around to do together! Enjoy the pictures. There are some really sweet ones of Jason and Jonas in the pool with the sun shining in (makes it seem like we're outside---not quite yet)! Jonas seemed so much more stable and confident in the water---a good thing for sure...especially with summer right around the corner and many a lake to splash in and explore:)
