Cold Turkey---The Night we said Goodbye to the Nukkie
Yes folks....that day has arrived, we're saying our goodbyes to all the nukkies of all shapes and colors... and as of 9:11 p.m., he is still quite upset about it...wish us luck! I wish this were easy, but I refuse to lie to him about sending his nukkie to Santa or to kids who need it in Africa or something weird like that (you wouldn't believe the suggestions I've had). Jason and I, in our deep and intimate wisdom on this subject, have both decided it was time, and, that we might as well do it all at once (for those of you who don't know...Jonas sleeps with two nukkies--one in his mouth and one in his hand)---oh dear, I thought maybe just cutting down to one would be a good transition, but Jason wanted to face it head on. Here's to hoping! We'll make it through. But honestly, it was a sweet relationship while it lasted:) He is a fantastic self-soother, and it is sad in some ways to see him moving on and growing up. Only a mother would understand, I suppose.

Good luck you guys! Jonas is becoming such a little man! I have no idea what we are going to do to get Ryan to quit his finger sucking ways, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. :)
How did it go?
I dont like Jonas being sad while he's going to sleep (erik said it would be like someone taking away his pillow...which you know he cant sleep without even though it is a million years old and grosss... anywayss) I said that the pillow doesnt hurt your teeth and mouth like nukkies do and then he understood a little better. :) were thinking of you guys as you battle this transition! love you!
