We went berry picking yesterday up north at Rod's Berry Farm!
Jason, Jonas and I joined some dear friends from Northwestern (Kay, Rach and Becky)
and picked our hearts out on a beautiful, sunny June afternoon (nearly 20 lbs of berries all together!)---It was perfect strawberry-eating weather too,
especially for little boys and little girls---these two kiddos had pink faces by the time we were done:)
Yummy! I just finished my very first batch of jam, and Jason is whipping up some delicious smoothies at this very moment! You can't beat that. (And... for dinner we had sweet corn for the first time this year, and Jonas had a blast "Shurking the corn" with Daddy out on the porch---he told my mom on the phone that he was "throwing the 'shucks' into the garbage":) He then, after I boiled them, proceeded to eat a cob and a 1/2---he loves it!) I must say, I love summer and the fruits of this wonderful season:)

Claire, I am so jealous. I was trying to figure out a way that I could get to the berry farm this summer but it just isn't going to work out. We are heading to MN in a few weeks but I'm afraid it will be too late. Enjoy!
