Here is Jonas (notice his chubby cheeks?) That is because he has a cherry tomato on each side:) He loves to meander out onto the porch and check on the newly ripened tomatoes, and most of them go straight in his mouth. I have heard several times that one of the reasons we have so many kids with allergies in this day and age is because we are too clean----antibacterial this and that---we wash everything, disinfect everything, and our immune systems are getting wimpy, so I suppose you could say this is where I figure he gets to build up his immunity by eating food fresh from the vine (a little dirt never hurt:) He loves to pick them--- judging between which ones are green, orange, or red and ready for picking:) He points and determines the ripeness factor one-by-one...Oh the simple summer days of free entertainment:)

I totally agree -- a little dirt never hurt anyone! :)
One of my favorite parts about August is that tomatoes are ripe!! Yum, those look SO good..I would pick them off and eat them as well! And, yes, I agree that a little dirt is good! :)
